Hector Lombard fick utmaningen, men det gick inte vägen. Istället förlorade han mot Tim Boetsch via ett delat domslut på UFC 149 nu i helgen. Nu däremot är det Michael Bispings tur att få samma utmaning.
“I’ve been told if I beat [Brian Stann], and beat him well, I’ll get a title shot,” säger Bisping till ESPN. “But I haven’t gotten it in writing, so it probably doesn’t mean anything.”
Bisping kommer att möta Stann på UFC 152 den 22 september, och går det hela bra så har vi en ny utmanare för titeln. Däremot så har UFCs VD Dana White tidigare sagt att Chris Weidman är den som är närmast en möjlighet att utmana Anderson Silva för titeln. Men det hindrar inte Bisping att prata om en eventuell kommande match mot mellanviktsmästaren.
“Every time I watch him fight, I think he always looks mortal – if you will,” säger Bisping om Silva. “He always looks beatable. That’s the good thing about a champion, they find a way to win. Regardless of how bad the fight goes, how it ends is the important thing. Anderson always comes out the winner. My hat is off to him, but I see holes in his game.”
