I maj nekade den atletiska kommissionen (NSAC) Alistair Overeem licens att gå match och först i slutet av december kommer det vara möjligt för honom att åter söka licens. Då kommer Overeem ha varit borta från oktagonen i ett år, hans hittills enda framträdande för sin arbetsgivare kom på UFC 141 där han besegrade och pensionerade Brock Lesnar.
