Efter att ha sökt efter en titelchans en längre tid, fick obesegrade brasilianskan Bethe Correia (9-0) tillslut som hon ville. I samband med den första presskonferensen under UFC World Tour annonserades Ronda Rousey (11-0) mot Bethe Correia som huvudmatch för UFC 190 i Rio de Janeiro. Trots att matchen äger rum om mer än fyra månader sparar inte Correia på orden om hennes kommande motståndare.
Efter att sjunderankade Bethe Correia nyligen offentliggjordes som nästa titelutmanare i UFC:s kvinnliga bantamviktsdivision, medverkade hon nyligen i den brasilianska TV-showen Sensei för att tala om matchen.
”I was born a fighter,” sa Correia. ”I have a warrior inside of me. I think it’s time to show Ronda is not all that people think she is. I know she’s been winning, but she shows a lot of holes in her game. To this day, every time I watch one of her fights, I keep waiting for something different to happen. I wait for her to show me MMA, some new move”.
Correia är självsäker att hon kommer lyckas besegra Rousey och bli den nya mästarinnan, och menar att hon kommer försvara sitt obesegrade matchfacit med allt hon har.
”I’m ready to become the new champion. This is not just a title fight. It’s about defending our invincibility. She doesn’t want to lose it, I know she hates to lose, and so do I. I’m very competitive and I’m not mentally prepared to lose. I don’t think anyone is. So I’ll defend that with everything I have”.
