Lättviktaren Donald Cerrone känner sig redo för mer matcher och uttryckte en ambition om att slå nytt rekord för UFC med sex fighter under 2014.
Cerrone hade en lyckad kväll på UFC on FOX 10. Brasilianaren Adriano Martins fälldes med en hög spark i första ronden vilket gav ”Cowboy” seger på avslut i två matcher på raken. Med motivationen tillbaka på topp var Cerrone genast redo för mer:
“I had to just figure out why I do this again,” sa Cerrone på presskonferensen efter galan. “I made more money than I had made in my whole life, and I got very comfortable and forgot the love of why I do this. I remember kickboxing around the world for $1500. I lost the love, and I’m back.”
Redan 2011 skapade Cerrone uppmärksamhet med sin höga aktivitet, då han gick fem matcher i UFC på ett år. Nu siktar lättviktaren på att få in sex matcher under 2014:
“I want to set a record for the most fights in a year. Could I get six? That would be fucking great. I think [fighting next in] Baltimore or Dallas would be great. There are fighters out there saying they can’t get fights. Hey, I’m your guy.”
Även om Cerrone välkomnade vem som helst att utmana honom på en fight, visade han inget större intresse för fjäderviktaren Cole Millers provokationer. Miller är en av de få personer i UFC som direkt ogillar den sympatiske och populäre cowboyen, vilket har lett till en del hårda ordväxlingar i sociala medier. Men Cerrone såg ingen anledning att gå ner en viktklass för att göra upp om saken:
“Cole Miller is a turd the UFC hasn’t flushed yet. I think the UFC is totally against me going to 145 [pounds]. I couldn’t drink delicious, full-bodied Budweisers, so that would be a lifestyle change. I don’t know if I’m committed to that. Cole Miller, win some fights and then come see me. You’re at the ass-end of a long line of people. We’ll see.”
