I november förra året gjorde svensken Papy Abedi sin UFC-debut. Han hade ett väldigt tufft motstånd i form av Thiago Alves på UFC 138 i Birmingham. I nattens avsnitt av The Joe Rogan Experience, en podcast som kommer ut en gång i veckan, så kom Abedi på tal och UFCs mästarkommentator Joe Rogan passade på att göra en snabb analys av matchen från november.
”Did you see [Thiago alves] last fight against Papy Abedi? This Papy Abedi looks like the last guy you want to fight, you look at him and he is just ridiculously shredded, he is a judo black belt and he can strike. He is very similar to Hector Lombard the Bellator champion. Really similarly built, ridiculous power punches, really fast and Thiago just stayed in the pocket and caught him with little shots and leg kicks but the guy was swinging at Thiago. The dude was a scary guy but it was a beautiful display of technique and patience and being a veteran and overcoming a guy that can beat anybody.
That Papy Abedi guy i feel he can beat anybody. If you fuck up and let that guy punch you in the face, which happens to guys. You all saw Jon Fitch last weekend.”
Nästa match för Papy är inte satt riktigt ännu, men det är mycket som pekar på att han kommer att dyka upp någon gång på den svenska UFC-galan UFC on Fuel TV 2 den 14 april.
