UFC Liverpool och Neil Magny förlorade en viktig match när det stod klart att Gunnar Nelson var tvungen att dra sig ur på grund av en skada. Jorge Masvidal erbjöd sig att hoppa in som ersättare men än så länge har inget materialiserats. Det har dock inte hindrat rivalerna från att jabbas på sociala medier.

Masvidal vill verkligen möta Magny men eftersom UFC Liverpool går av stapeln den 27 maj så var det enda kravet att matchen skulle gå i catchvikt istället. En av anledningarna till att Masvidal är så intresserad av att hoppa in som ersättare och möta Magny är för att han helt enkelt inte tycker om honom.

“My manager told me about [Nelson’s withdrawal,] and he was like ‘hey man, here’s your chance to smash Magny,’ cause he knows I don’t like Magny one bit,” sade Masvidal till BJPenn.com. “So he offered it to me, and he was like ‘what do you think?’ We’ll make it at a catchweight, cause I’m a little heavier right now.”
“We offered it to the UFC at 180 [pounds] and they loved it,” fortsatte Masvidal. “They thought we’d make a great addition to the card, so now they just have to run it by Magny. I’m almost positive the answer’s going to be no, because this situation has happened with him in the past, so I’d surprised if he took it.”
Masvidal har sedan dess avslöjat att Magny har tackat nej till matchen
“They just said no,” skrev Masvidal om Magnys svar.
