Den vanligtvis gladlynte fjäderviktaren Marcus ”The Bama Beast” Brimage är för närvarande inte nöjd över hur han matchats hittills i UFC. Han upplever att UFC försöker ge andra fajters möjligheten att kliva upp i rankingen genom att matcha dem mot honom, istället för att ge Brimage de matcher som skulle kunna höja honom.
Brimage har för närvarande tre raka segrar i UFC mot Stephen Bass, Maximo Blanco och Jim Hettes men detta har tydligen inte varit tillräckligt för att ge honom de matcher han vill ha.
”The plan is to win by any means necessary. If it goes to decision it sucks, but it’ll go to decision. If I knock his ass out in the first, then I knock his ass out in the first. We don’t get paid by the round in the UFC. It’s just that the position I’m in, in the UFC, everyone thinks I suck. Sooo if I beat you, you really suck. Because they keep using me as a stepping-stone. Maximo Blanco he was supposed to on the fast track to Aldo, I stopped that…Jimy Hettes, I stopped that. Now this guy, and I’m about to stop that again. They think I suck. They keep using me as a stepping stone, but if I keep beating you and you suck, then that means you really suck.”, säger Brimage till MMA Fight Corner.
Brimage (6-1) är närmast inbokad för match på UFC: Stockholm 2013 mot den i Europa högt ansedde irländaren Conor McGregor (12-2). Matchen kommer att vara en del av kortet som sänds live på Facebook.
