Antonio Rodrigo “Minotauro” Nogueira är inte ett Chael Sonnen-fan. I en intervju med brasilianska MMA-sajten Tatame.com lägger han ut texten om vad han tycker om Sonnen.
“The guy’s disrespectful. They way he advertises himself is a wrong way of advertising, it’s disrespectful. He does those warm fights. He’s a tough fighter, a super athlete, but his kind of fight doesn’t sell, doesn’t convince, he’s not a dangerous striker nor a submitter. Where he gets his popularity from? Talking”.
Nogueira som är en väldigt respektfull fighter och sällan talar illa om andra verkar ha tagit illa vid sig av Sonnens trashtalk.
“He’s a guy who says bad things about countries, the athlete, Anderson’s wife, the way he dresses… He gets into things that doesn’t matter, if he said he was going to beat Anderson and explained how I guess it was ok, but he gets into personal stuff and that’s a mistake. Anderson did good on responding to him”.
Han fortsätter att berätta om hur skarp Anderson ser ut i träningen inför fighten med Sonnen:
“I’ve never seen Anderson like that. He’s throwing amazing kicks and punches, he’s got an amazing ground game and he has effective takedown defenses. I watched his last couple of trainings and he’s prepared. Sonnen will have to hand in there because he really wants it and he’s ready for it”.
Nogueira kommenterar även nyheten att Sonnen tränar med tvåan i The Ultimate Fighter säsong 8 Vinny Magalhães för att förbättra hans markgame inför matchen med Anderson.
“He’s gotta try (laughs), Pexao is a very good Jiu-Jitsu guy and has got to improve his triangles. He was submitted by Demian, Sobral, Paulo, Anderson, Jeremy Horn… I guess he says bad things about Jiu-Jitsu and Brazil because of that: he’s traumatized by Brazilians’ ground game”.
Anderson Silva möter Chael Sonnen kommande lördag i det efterlängtade huvudeventet på UFC 148.
