Ryan Bader som vann mot Phil Davis för lite mindre än två veckor sedan under UFC on FOX 14 på Tele2 Arena i Stockholm. Bader som är rankad på femte plats i divisionen förutspår en miniturnering mellan honom själv, Rashad Evans, Daniel Cormier och Alexander Gustafsson.
Dana White meddelade under presskonferensen efter UFC 183 att Alexander Gustafsson (16-3, #2) inte kommer få möta varken Rashad Evans (19-3-1, #4) eller Daniel Cormier (15-1, #3) i sin nästa match. Ryan Bader (19-4) är öppen för en match mot vem som helst utav dessa tre herrar.
Ryan Bader förklarar för MMAjunkie.com:
“It’ll be a little tournament right there is what I’m thinking. It’s got to be one of those three then the other guy fights the other guy out of that. You never know what they’re going to do, but I assume that’s what’s going to happen. I’m just not sure which individual I’m actually going to fight.”
“They all pose different threats and they’re all good at different things,” sa Bader.
Bader förklarar, “Rashad’s a very good, overall well-rounded fighter. ‘DC’ is a beast in the wrestling department. Gustafsson is a very polished fighter. They’re all tough as nails and they’re all going to be in the fight. They’re all ranked as the best in the world for a reason. It honestly doesn’t matter to me. I’d like to fight them all at one point. Whoever it’s going to be is a tough fight, but I’ve been having those my whole career.”
Ryan Bader var inte fullständigt nöjd över sin insats mot Phil Davis trots vinst. Han är däremot glad över att vara rankad i toppen i en sådan tuff division och ser fram emot nästa utmaning mot den absoluta toppen.
“My best is still to come and it’s not even close to over. I’m going to keep getting better and better each fight. Every fight is a huge fight for me, so I’ve just got to get it done. I’m still a work in progress. I just broke into the top five and I’ll take it where I go from here. I’ll go beat a top-three guy, then keep it rolling.”
