Bec Rawlings (7-4) besegrade Seo Hee Ham (16-7) via enhälligt domslut på UFC Fight Night 85, men förklarar att hon tycker att hennes prestation inte var den bästa.
Rawlings blev frustrerad över att inte kunna avsluta Ham och hyllar sin motståndare för henne tuffhet.
“She’s got a hard head,” sa Rawlings. “She can take a punch, and I gave her everything. It was frustrating she wouldn’t drop. I was like, ‘Why aren’t you dropping?’”
Rawlings hade varit borta från oktagonen i tio månader på grund av en skada och var inte säker på hur hennes prestation skulle bli efter skadan, men hon kände sig som sig själv.
“You don’t know what you’re going to be when you come back from a big injury like that, so I was just like, ‘Yeah, I’m here. I haven’t changed. I’m back,’” sa Rawlings. “I just really, really wanted it. It was a big, emotional buildup. Just being stuck on crutches for three or four months can kind of mess with you. You feel that you’re useless. It was cool to prove I can come through adversity and come out a better fighter at the end.”
Rawlings har nu två vinster i rad och vill möta en rankad fighter. Hon berättar att hon är ute efter stråviktsbältet och vill visa att hon är den bästa fightern i världen.
“I’d like to fight a ranked fighter,” sa hon. “I want to climb that ladder, and I’m after that gold. I want to be the best in the world. In my head I’m the best in the world, but I jut need to go out there and prove it and fight the best to get there.”
