Bryan Caraway siktar högt, så högt att han inte ens är villig att möta UFC:s kanske hetaste bantamviktare härnäst. ”Kid Lightning” accepterar inget mindre än en chans på Dominick Cruz bälte härnäst, hur orealistiskt det än är.
Bryan Caraway (21-7) vann en imponerande vinst över Aljamain Sterling (12-1) på UFC Fight Night 88 förra helgen, om än på ett delat domarbeslut. Med all den hype bakom sig som ”The Funk Master” hade inför matchen anser sig Caraway därmed förtjänt av en titelchans härnäst och är alltså inte villig att tillgodose Cody Garbrandts (9-0) utmaning om ett möte de två emellan:
”I’m not saying [Garbrandt] wasn’t talented, but, he wasn’t in the Top 15 at all. He had a good performance and all that, but I think that would be going backwards just from where I’m trying to go,” berättade han under The MMA Hour.
En titelmatch mot Dominick Cruz (22-1) är allt Caraway är villig att acceptera, vilket skulle innebära att han tränger sig före bland andra T.J Dillashaw (12-3) förutsatt att han besegrar Raphael Assuncao (23-4) på UFC 200 nästa månad:
”He just broke into the top 10. I beat an undefeated guy that night as well. The No. 4 guy in the world. I want one of those top guys,I feel like I earned to fight for the belt. I beat the No. 6 guy before hat, I beat the No. 4 guy. I think Garbrandt, maybe one more top 10 win and he’ll be ready for top five guys.”
