Fight Nights Global släpper nu ett uttalande efter kritiken mot domarinsatsen i returmötet mellan Maiquel Falcao och Vladimir Mineev.
I fredags gick Fight Nights Global 63 av stapeln i Vladivostok, Primorsky, Ryssland, där den delade huvudmatchen utgjordes av ett returmöte mellan UFC – och Bellator-veteranen Maiquel Falcao (37-10, 1 NC) och ryssen Vladimir Mineev (9-1).
Efter att ha säkrat vinsten via majoritetsdomslut i deras första match i december, var det denna gång Falcao som fick se sig besegrad via teknisk knockout i den första ronden.
Stor kritik mot domarstoppet
Enligt flera fans, journalister och erfarna domare som Marc Goddard och ”Big” John McCarthy stoppades dock matchen alldeles för sent.

Falcao var märkbart skadad redan efter en minut och 55 sekunder, men det dröjde ytterligare en minut och 41 sekunder innan domaren stoppade matchen. Under tiden landade Mineev närmare 60 slag mot huvudet – medan Falcao inte landade ett enda.

”Uppenbart” att matchen stoppades för sent
Nu har Fight Nights Global släppt ett uttalande om händelsen. Organisationen är ”väldigt besvikna” över domarinsatsen och menar att det var ”uppenbart” att matchen stoppades alldeles för sent.

”We are very disappointed at the referee’s performance during the Mineev vs. Falcao fight. It was obvious the fight should have been stopped long before it actually was stopped. FNG has no control over the referees and judges, as they report to the commission.
Fight Nights Global holds the safety of its fighters as top priority and will address the issue directly to the commission and continue to invest in efforts to work with the commission on raising the safety and referee standard
in Russia’s MMA sports.”
