Att de som tillhör Golden Glory inte är vidare glada över Alistair Overeems beteende när han gick över till UFC för att sedan lämna teamet är rätt solklart. Marloes Coenen länkade via sin facebook-sida till intervjun med Bas Rutten som kom ut tidigare idag, och fick då påhälsning av Eldar Gross, mannen som står bakom webbdokumentären The Reem:
Eldar Gross: ”…I have to be honest to say that none of it is true and part of a smear campaign initiated by the glory camp. I am dissapoointed that you would lower yourself to take part in this. I have been traveling with golden glory and alistair for a long time as a filmmaker making [the documentary] ”the reem” and can tell you this first hand because I was there. Golden glory has fallen deep and unfortunately is taking everyone with them. such a shame.”
Marloes Coenen: ”Eldar, you know I like you a lot. But I’m longer with the GG-camp than you are and I know exactly what goes on. Basically you call Bas Rutten a liar too? Alistair uses and lies. E.g. telling he pays 35% while no one of the GG-fighhters pay that? He got that contract because his accountant asked for it..it was convenient so he could pay less tax. If you lie and talk shit about the people who helped you. Just like I helped him; posted my SF-check and called Dana out to help him with the negotiations. And then turn your back and making the team look bad. Well Eldar, then I’m done. I’m surprised that you have posted this message because I know you as a good guy.”
Shannon Knapp (representant hos Golden Glory): ”Eldar, you are like the one man crusade! You just picked the wrong facebook page to plead your case. I was there too through all the legalities …of the negotiation. Unless you know something that happened when Alistair was in Vegas with the UFC, I am going to have to go with the evidence that I have physically witnessed myself.”
”This time being witness to the whole negotiation, all the emails Alistair was cc on throughout the negotiation and myself being on a conference call with Alistair and the attorney, I can’t stand behind the athlete…It’s funny to me that you defend [Overeem] so vigorously when in February of last year in Dallas you and Alistair had a big disagreement on who owned the footage rights to the video’s you make. You said they belonged to you and Alistair disagreed that they solely belonged to him.”
”I have been in this business for many years, worked with everyone in the business and Bas Rutten is by far one of the most honest men I know. You may not like what he has to say, but he keeps it real and if he is standing up for GG you better believe that he can back it up with proof. Btw- Bas wanted me to let you know that he will take a lie detector test with you and then we will see who is telling the truth.”
