När UFC gör sitt första besök i Polen under UFC Fight Night 64 den 11:e april får vi se Mirko ”Cro Cop” Filipovic göra sin återkomst till oktagonen där han ska ta sig an Gabriel Gonzaga i galans huvudmatch. Det blir en rematch mellan de två då Gonzaga knockade Filipovic i den första matchen via huvudspark under UFC 70 för åtta år sedan.
Under det senaste avsnittet av The MMA Hour så berättade Mirko Cro Cop (30-11-2, 1 nc) att hans förlust mot Gabriel Gonzaga (16-9) är en match som ärrat fast sig i hans minne och att han få gå match mot honom var motivation nog för att återvända till oktagonen.
”It was one of the fights I will never forget, and I just want a rematch with him. I can’t say I will beat him, but I will die trying. That’s how I feel. I feel good right now. There are a few things I still want to do and definitely fighting Gabriel Gonzaga is one of them,” sa Mirko.
Den 40-årige Mirko Cro Cop som nu gör sin tredje runda i UFC har gått 3-6 i organisationen och har nu fått ett nytt kontrakt på tre matcher inför hans match mot Gonzaga.
”I really believe that I’m a better fighter than Gabriel Gonzaga. I don’t want to be a big mouth and I respect him. He’s a great fighter. But I will do my best, definitely. He will do his best. We are going to perform a great show and the fans will be happy. I really want that victory more than anything. Believe me. More than anything.”
