Super Fight League är Indiens hittills enda MMA-organisation – Och de siktar högt. Med en Bollywood-stjärna bakom rodret så vet han även medians makt, något som de nu räknar med att utnyttja. Precis som med UFCs The Ultimate Fighter så satsar de nu på att köra igång en egen reality-serie med MMA-tema. Men deras serie kommer vara mer lik Big Brother, snarare än The Ultimate Fighter.
”Initially, we had jointly decided that it’s going to be a 16 male fighters/contestants show,” säger SFLs delägare Raj Kundra till Hindustan Times. ”Then, we thought of combining eight male and female each, to make it more interesting and add masala for the public. It also has great entertainment potential. It’s going to be 50-day long series. The concept is that every week people will vote for two people they want to see fight, and Friday will be the elimination night. The fighters will also be given tasks throughout the week.”
Det här är även något som de har långt gående planer för. Inspelningarna kommer att påbörjas redan den 1 juli, även om de inte är klara om vilken TV-kanal det kommer att gå på.
“Three GECs (TV channels) are after us to give them the rights, but we can’t divulge their names yet,” avslutar Kundra.
