Chris ”The Kiss” Spång går upp i buren nu på fredag mot amerikanen Alan Jouban. Det är RFA: Resurrection Fighting Alliance som skall hålla galan i Californien, USA.
Chris Spång hade ett matchfacit på 3-0 när han under 2011 tog sig till Strikeforce. Han hann där med att vinna två matcher och förlora en innan organisationen las ner. I UFC debuterade han mot Adlan Amagov på UFC: Stockholm i vad som slutade i en domslutsförlust. Alan Jouban satte igång MMA-karriären med att besegra Tyson Griffins bror Kyle via knockout på endast 15 sekunder. Efter en förlust mot Chidi Njokuani så har han nu gått segrande i fem raka matcher, fyra av dessa har avslutats via slag.
“I am so excited to bring the RFA to Los Angeles and to give fans in my hometown this championship title fight between undefeated Pedro Munhoz and undefeated Keoni Koch,” säger RFA:s VD Ed Soares. “This fight not only gives the winner the RFA world bantamweight title, he also gets to prove on live national television that he’s one of the toughest rising stars in the division.”
Vi intervjuade Alan Jouban:
– Yeah, I´m looking forward to it. I know that it will be a tough fight. Chris Spang is a solid fighter with great stand up and I got a lot of respect for his talent, säger Alan.
Han räknar med att fighten kommer att gå alla tre ronder och har bra koll på sin motståndare. Alan har sett flera matcher och är redo för en lång fight.
– I think it´s going to be a back and forth fight. He has never been finished so he has a really great gas tank. I don´t see a quick finish but of course I would like for it to happen. I think it will be a real battle, berättar Alan.
Något som bägge fighters har gemensamt är att de är modeller. För tillfället är det just modellandet som betalar Alans räkningar men det är något som han hoppas ska ändras i framtiden.
– I´ve been doing that for about ten years. I still do that because that pays my bills. It pays more than fighting at the moment so I havet o do it. I hope for it to be a little less in the future. I´m a fighter in my heart and I´m sure that Chris are the same, säger Alan.
Vi kommer in på framtiden. Som många fighters har Alan Jouban UFC som mål. I dagsläget är han nöjd med sin situation och ser stora möjligheter till att nå sitt mål.
– I have a three fight deal with RFA. It´s a good platform for talented prospect like Chris Spång and me. UFC are the ultimate goal but RFA seems to be like a feeder to UFC and it´s not a bad organisation to be with.
– The thing is that I´m evolving all the time. I´m not even close to the fighter I was two years ago. Even if you evolve you always go back to your strenght. The stand up is my strength and I have knocked out a couple of guys. I`m training jujutsu with Eddie Bravo and I getting better and feeling comfortable on the ground, avslutar Alan Jouban.
Att det blir en tuff match råder det nog ingen tvekan om. Alan Jouban är en hårt slående fighter och är förberedd på ett riktigt krig. Om han ska kunna nå sitt mål är en vinst mot Chris ”The Kiss” Spång en föutsättning.
