Dana White brukar kunna ge en del märkliga uttalanden och nu påstår han att en fight mellan ”Rowdy” Ronda Rousey och Cristiane ”Cyborg” Justino skulle sälja fler än 2 miljoner pay-per-views och matchen blev av.
Dana White medverkade under natten vid The Jim Rome Show och väl där påstod han att om en match blev av mellan den kvinnliga bantamviktsmästaren ”Rowdy” Ronda Rousey och den tidigare fjäderviktsmästaren i Strikeforce, Cristiane ”Cyborg” Justino så skulle den matchen slå organisationens pay-per-view rekord från UFC 100. Den galan drog in ungefär 1,5 miljoner köp och White går så långt att han garanterar att Rousey vs. Cyborg skulle sälja över 2 miljoner ppv:s. Dock så är Cyborg idag inte med i UFC utan tävlar för Invicta som förvisso ägs av UFC. Men hon har även sagt att hon helst inte bantar till bantamvikt utan föredrar om fighten sker i en catchweight. Trots detta tror White att fighten kommer att ske och att den i så fall blir en massiv sporthändelse:
”I don’t know [who wins], I think that’s why the fight is so exciting. There’s no denying that Cyborg’s a beast, man. She’s tough, and many people believe — including me — that Ronda’s the best in the world and the best female fighter ever. So it’s one of those fights that’s very intriguing. And I’ll tell you this, Jim, when that fight happens I guarantee you that fight does over two million pay-per-view buys. It will be massive. I want that fight. Ronda wants that fight, and I think everybody else wants to see that fight. Supposedly, sometime before the end of this year [Cyborg]’s supposed to cut down to 135 pounds, she will fight in Invicta, and if she fights that fight and wins, then Ronda will be next”, säger White.
