Tidigare i veckan berättade lättviktsmästaren Conor McGregor att han hade ett specifikt krav för att komma tillbaka till buren. Kravet var att McGregors eget promotion-företag McGregor Sports and Entertainment, ska stå som officiell samarbetspartner med UFC.
Under presskonferensen innan UFC 217 ställdes frågan till Dana White hur förhandlingarna med McGregor ser ut och utan att säga för mycket sammanfattar White det hela med svaret ”vi lyckas alltid få till en deal med Conor.
“As we go into negotiations with Conor there’s always all kinds of crazy stuff out there,” sa White på presskonferensen “We always get deals done with Conor. Conor has been easy to deal with, and we’ll get it done.” (Transkriberat av MMAjunkie)
McGregor vill komma tillbaka redan i år
Vidare säger White till TMZ Sports att planen är att McGregor ska komma tillbaka redan i år.
“Yeah. We’re planning on it. He [Conor McGregor] said he wants to, and we want him to. So we’ll see what happens.”
”The kid wants some money, the kid wants some stuff. And if there’s anyone out there that’s worth it, it’s Conor McGregor. We’ve always figured it out with him and we’ll figure it out again.” sa White.
Som det ser ut planerar UFC att interim-mästaren Tony Ferguson ska unifiera lättviktsbältena i en match mot McGregor, som har bekräftat att förhandlingarna handlar om en match mot just ”El Cucuy”.
