Medan MMA-världen unisont höjt helgens returmatch mellan Conor McGregor och Nate Diaz till skyarna som en av de bästa matcherna någonsin, är Jim Miller av en annan åsikt.
”Inte den bästa matchen”
Jim Miller (26-8) är aktuell med en på förhand fullkomligt galen match mot Joe Lauzon (26-11) på helgens UFC on FOX 21. Mycket av frågorna inför galan rör förra helgens UFC 202 och i synnerhet den omsusade huvudmatchen mellan Conor McGregor (20-3) och Nate Diaz (19-11). Medan många upplevde mötet som ett av de bästa någonsin var Miller inte lika imponerad.
Under en livesändning på Facebook hade Miller detta att säga om den hyllade returmatchen, som han inte tycker speglar det bästa i varken Nate Diaz eller Conor McGregor:
”I thought it was a very compelling fight, I’ve seen those guys perform a lot better if I’m being hypercritical. It wasn’t the greatest fight in the world in my mind, because Conor got very tired. And Nate, his boxing just looked off. He wasn’t striking like he normally strikes, or like he has. If he boxed Conor like he did Michael Johnson, I think the fight is different.”
”It was an exciting fight because things were going on, you had all the lead-up but, again, it wasn’t their best performances. But yeah, it was a good fight.”
