Neil Magny (17-4) besegrade Kelvin Gastelum (11-2) via delat domslut på UFC Fight Night 78, men Gastelum trodde att det var han som hade vunnit matchen eller att det åtminstonde skulle ha blivit en oavgjord match.
Gastelum förklarar att man inte ska ta något ifrån Magny, som kom in på kort notis och lyckades vinna.
“First of all, I think no one should take away anything from Magny,” Sa Gastelum. “I mean, he came in on two weeks’ notice, stepped up, and pulled out of the win. Whether (the fourth round) was a 10-8 round, I don’t know.
“I thought it was going to be either a win or a draw, but no one should take anything away from Magny.”
Magny berättar själv att han inte var helt säker på att han skulle vinna, men hoppades att han hade gjort tillräckligt i de första ronderna för att ta hem segern.
“I thought, at the beginning of the rounds, I did enough in the first three rounds to win the fight, but you just never know when you leave it up the judges,” sa Magny. “Kelvin’s a tough competitor. He just kept coming the whole time. So I’m sure it was a difficult fight to score on the judges’ side.”
