Vitor Belfort är ännu en gång inbokad i en match i Brasilien. Detta blir den tredje gången på raken han går en match i sitt hemland, och många tror sig veta att det är på grund av testosteronterapin han går på, även kallat TRT. Denna gång är det även hans motståndare Dan Henderson som är på samma kur, och för Belforts del så ser han inga problem i det.
”You know, a lot of guys are on TRT right now,” säger Belfort till MMAHour. ”But, when I fight in Brazil, it’s the only place that draw blood work after the fight. That’s the only place that does that. So now, I’m fighting a guy who is on TRT, too. So, he’s going to be very surprised that they will have to draw blood. In other places, you don’t need to, but there you have to.
”So, it’s good to have two guys (on TRT) to have to fight there”, fortsätter Belfort. ”The reason I fight in Brazil is because I sell a lot in Brazil. It’s great for me to be fighting in my country. I’m used to fighting any other places. But, I don’t see any problem. I sell big in Brazil. It makes sense for them and makes sense for me.”
Om man nu skulle räkna bort vändan som Belfort gjorde till Kanada för att möta Jon Jones, så har Belfort inte varit inne i en oktagon utanför sitt hemland sedan 2011. Och den 9 november kommer det ske igen på UFC Fight Night 32.
