UFC-galorna fortsätter att rada upp sig och till helgen är det dags för UFC 186 som utspelar sig i Montrael, Kanada natten till söndag svensk tid. I galans delade huvudevent möts mellanviktarna Michael ”The Count” Bisping och amerikanen C.B. ”The Doberman” Dollaway. Dollaway säger inför mötet att han är tacksam för att hans motståndare inte heter Lyoto Machida den här gången samt att han älskar Bispings stil inne i oktagonen.
C.B. ”The Doberman” Dollaway(15-6) vill helst glömma sitt senaste framträdande i UFC. Han blev sänkt av en kroppsspark från Lyoto ”The Dragon” Machida efter endast en minut när de två möttes i december. Sviktande fokus på själva fighten ska ha varit en av anledningarna till varför det gick som det gick: ”I let a lot of stuff get to me, looking into what that fight could bring, and if I win, I’m one fight away from a title, or maybe I could get a title shot. All this sh-t and not worrying about fighting Lyoto. You’ve got to win first. That fight, I had a lot of different nerves I don’t usually have. I don’t think so much that it was Lyoto Machida; it was the pressure of, ‘I can win this, I’ve gotta win this fight,’ instead of just going out and just fighting”.
Han hävdar att han lärt sig av förlusten och tänker göra allt för att fokusera enbart på sin motståndare, Michael ”The Count” Bisping (25-7), den kommande helgen. ”One of us is going to go one way, and one of us is going to go the other. Unfortunately, it’s going to be him. I’m still young in this sport. I’ve got a lot to prove; I feel like he’s got a (commentator) job at FOX. I don’t know if he’s got one foot out the door”. Det är mycket möjligt att vinnaren förblir i jakten på en titelchans i mellanvikt medan förloraren troligtvis aldrig når dit då bägge männen börjar komma upp i ålder samt har missat stora möjligheter sedan tidigare.
”I love the way he fights”
Dollaway verkar till skillnad från många av engelsmannens tidigare motståndare inte ha något emot honom utan tvärtom. Han tänker njuta av tillfället att få möta en motståndare som går rakt mot honom: ”I love the way he fights. He’s in your face. As compared to the last guy I fought, who’s just elusive – he was hard to find training partners for, and when I got in there, he was obviously very elusive there. Michael Bisping, he’s going to come right after me. I have no doubt about that in my mind. He’s going to have a high pace off the bat, and we’re going to get down”.
