Fjäderviktaren Charles ”Do Bronx” Oliveira (20-4, 1 no contest) har efter nattens vinst mot Nik ”The Carney” Lentz vunnit fyra raka matcher i divisionen. Oliveira är klar med att säga att en eventuell titelchans är något han skulle göra det mesta av.
Under natten fick den nummer åtta-rankade fjäderviktaren i UFC, Charles ”Do Bronx” Oliveira, revansch mot amerikanen Nik ”The Carney” Lentz efter att deras första möte för drygt fyra år sedan slutade med att Oliveiras submissionvinst blev ändrad till en no contest efter att han träffat Lentz med ett otillåtet knä. I natt fanns det inga oklarheter när Oliveira strypte ut Lentz med en guilotine i matchens sista rond vilket gör att brassen nu vunnit fyra raka matcher och avslutat tre av dessa via submission. Vid presskonferensen efter matchen förtydligade han att han gärna accepterar en titelmatch och att han i så fall kommer att ta tillvara på den:
”If you don’t want the title, you’re in the wrong sport. When I have my chance, I will go there to become champion. I can grow a lot more. I haven’t showed anything yet. One day I will get there and win the title. I want to fight and be happy. That’s the idea. I want to go back home and rest. I hope the UFC calls me to fight as soon as possible. It doesn’t matter the opponent, I want to fight. When the UFC calls me for a shot at the title, be sure I won’t waste it”, säger Oliveira.
Brassen har vunnit samtliga sina matcher i divisionen bortsett från två nederlag mot två av viktklassens bästa fighters i Frankie ”The Answer” Edgar och Cub Swanson. Hur tror ni att han står sig mot de bästa i divisionen nu?
