Rykten om en spricka mellan UFC:s fjäderviktsmästare och dess VD kom ”Uncle Dana” nyligen till Conor McGregors undsättning i det ständigt pågående tjafset med Floyd Mayweather.
Även fast det är långt ifrån första gången de två hamnat i luven på varandra var det Floyd Mayweather (49-0) som startade den senaste episoden i tjafset med Conor McGregor (19-2). Detta då boxaren påstod att irländarens popularitet visar på rasism och han själv som en svart man kallas arrogant för samma beteende som McGregor, en vit man, hyllas för.
McGregor har hunnit svara och Mayweather har å sin sida hunnit komma tillbaka med ännu en replik innan Dana White under dagen bestämde sig för att lägga sig i. I en intervju med Huffington Post uppgav VD:n nämligen att Mayweather är helt ute och cyklar i sina anklagelser:
”I think Floyd’s way off there. I think that Floyd, because he’s Floyd, he feels more hate than love. I think what Floyd doesn’t realize is that I meet tons of people who hate Floyd and I meet tons of people who love Floyd. Floyd has fans and he has people who dislike him. McGregor has the same thing. Forget about race and all that other stuff. McGregor has a ton of fans and lots of people who don’t like him. It’s no different.”
Vissa kommer tycka om dig och andra inte, så enkelt är det. Varför är det så svårt för Mayweather att förstå detta? Enligt White beror det på att boxaren lider av vanföreställningar…
”Me and Floyd go back and forth with each other all the time talking smack I guess. Whatever you want to call it. Floyd is a little delusional sometimes. When Floyd was ”Pretty Boy Floyd” nobody really cared. When he became ”Money Mayweather” it created a lot of attention for himself. You’re going to have people who love you and people that hate you, whether you’re black or white.”
