Det har länge snackats om Georges St-Pierres comeback och bevisen fortsätter att komma in. Enligt hans mentor är St-Pierre mitt uppe i förberedelserna för att återvända.
2013 lämnade Georges St-Pierre (25-2) oktagonen och weltervikttiteln, efter en sex år lång vinstsvit. Hans vän och mentor Kristof Midoux (6-10) bekräftar i kanadensisk media att det bara verkar vara en tidsfråga innan han återvänder.
”They are trying to book New York or Las Vegas. We do not care about where, the important thing is to choose the right time and that he has the desire.”
Enligt Midoux vill GSP ha bältet och därefter få ”revansch” för sin sista match.
”I think if George returns is to take his belt. Lawler is a very good fighter. This is a true warrior. If you think you do five rounds with him, you can lose at the last second, he can turn the lights off in a second. He’s really strong. He deserves his place.
If George comes back, takes his title and he still really loves it, then I would jump at the chance to do it again with Hendricks. I know that he, like me, is not satisfied with this fight. Det har ryktats om en match mot Conor McGregor (19-3), men det ska tydligen inte alls locka GSP.
“That would be a money fight and GSP is a martial artist. McGregor is a warrior and would likely say yes, but it would be a mismatch. Georges is not interested.”
