Demetrious Johnson (23-2-1) besegrade Kyoji Horiguchi (16-2) via armbar i femte ronden på UFC 186 och nu hoppas Horiguchi på att få möta flugviktsmästaren igen.
Horiguchi är mest känd för att använda sin striking, men i matchen mot Chico Camos (14-7-1) på UFC Fight Night 75 försökte Horiguchi få ner Camos på mattan flera gånger. Horiguchi förklarar att han gjorde detta för att förvirra sin motståndare.
“If I show that kind of move to my opponent, it makes him focus on it, so I just wanted to show the move to my opponent to make him focus on it more (so I could strike),” berättade Horiguchi för MMAjunkie via en tolk. “I tried ground positions a lot, so I wanted to go for takedowns.”
Horiguchi vill helst ha en rematch med Johnson så fort som möjligt.
“Not in particular (is there an opponent I want to fight next),” sa Horiguchi. “I want the belt soon.”
