Hittills har CM Punk inte gjort mycket för att bevisa motsatsen av det Matt Brown pratade om på podcasten ”Great MMA Debate” under dagen. Han har inte vad som krävs för att vara en fighter helt enkelt.
Man blir inte mer av en fighter än UFC:s welterviktare Matt Brown (20-13). Han kanske inte är den bästa, mest framgångsrika eller populärast men en fighter, det är han verkligen.
Samma sak kan inte sägas om CM Punk som nyligen drog sig ur den tänkta UFC-debuten mot Mickey Gall (2-0) efter dennes vinst över Mike Jackson (0-1) i helgen. Äntligen föll allt på plats och så drabbas huvudpersonen av ett diskbråck. Enligt Brown har Punk helt enkelt inte vad som krävs för att kliva in i buren.
”This guy, he aint no fighter. People don’t understand what it’s like sitting in that locker room for two to three hours knowing a guy down the hall is going to try to fucking murder you. That feeling in indescribable. The nerves, people call it fear. That feeling is not to be envied. Personally, I do envy it but that’s what separates a fighter from everyone else. Conquering that fear takes something different than I think most people have and I question whether CM Punk has that or not.”
Det var då CM Punk fick klart för sig vem han kommer möta och vad Mickey Gall är kapabel till som Brown tror det brast för stjärnan:
”Now he’s got to face this kid in the ring right after. You could see there wasn’t any showmanship on CM Punk all of a sudden. There wasn’t any shit talking, no flashiness. All of sudden it’s this humble guy and reality is setting in when you’re facing your opponent for the first time. It’s looking at you in the face. That’s only going to grow as the fight gets closer. In the locker room, that’s when it all comes to fruition. All that shit creeps into your mind … I don’t know if CM Punk is made for that. I don’t think pro wrestling gets you ready for that.”
