Roy Nelson är för närvarande en av coacherna för The Ultimate Fighter 16, där Shane Carwin är den andra. Den som officiellt håller i programmet är UFCs VD Dana White, och det har varit väldigt klart att Nelson och White inte går hand i hand under säsongens gång. De som sett säsongen har nog märkt detta, men Nelson har en helt egen teori om varför det är på det viset.
”I think me and Dana are gonna fight, I think I even offered,” säger Nelson till MMAFighting. ”We’ll handle it like men, like everybody else. But at the end of the day, Dec. 15th I’m fighting Shane Carwin. He’s going to settle his beef with me and I’m gonna squash the juice with him. Pretty much if the fight happens, it happens. I guess I’ve just stolen the thunder from Dana and Dana likes to be the front man and it’s switching. I don’t know, maybe there is a switch of power or something. Dana says he loves me, he hates me, he says it all. I’m confused. And all I want to do is eat because it just puts me in a depression.”
Nelson är för närvarande aktuell i The Ultimate Fighter, och kommer att kliva upp i buren mot Shane Carwin för att göra upp om coach-titeln på The Ultimate Fighter 16-finalen den 15 december. Så länge inte han och White ryker ihop fullständigt förstås.
