Jose Aldos (25-1) lagkamrat Yan Cabral (12-1) har precis gjort sin 155-pound-debut som slutade med en submissionvinst i andra ronden mot Naoyuki Kotani (33-12-7) på lördagens UFC 179. Brasilianaren berättade för media efter sin vinst att han vill få klå upp den irländska personligheten som verkar vara på allas läppar just nu, Conor McGregor (16-2).
”I just got to the lightweight division, so my goal is to train, evolve and fight the best. I’ll eventually get to the top, there’s a guy that I want to fight, a guy that has been talking a lot, talking about Jose Aldo as well: McGregor. He fights at 145, but talked about moving up to 155 for a fight, and I also thought about fighting at 145. I want to beat him up one day.”
Om McGregor vinner sin nästa fight mot Dennis Siver (22-9) i januari är det mycket möjligt att han får sin titelfight. Cabral tycker dock inte han har gjort sig förtjänt av den än och tror inte han kommer komma så långt med hans träningskamrater i vägen.
”We have at least 10 featherweights at Nova Uniao that could beat him up, until he gets to Aldo, there are more guys he has to beat. Hacran Dias would kill him.”
Cabral vill fightas så snart som möjligt och berättar att han är redo att slåss redan nästa månad.
”It the UFC offers me a fight next month, or at the Barueri card (20 december), I’ll take it, I have no injuries and I’m ready to fight again.
