”I don’t know. I think it doesn’t sound right when he says it like that. I understand and respect the lust for the big fight and the money fight, but the way he says i have to do something spectacular … I think it’s a bad word. I think it’s a bad thing to say, because i’m ranked number one, and i’ve been fighting everybody and the division and i’ve been winning, i’m the number one guy … it’s not up to him to say something like that,” säger Gustafsson.
”He’s keeping the light heavyweight belt for himself, he doesn’t want to let go. I don’t know what’s going on. He has to make up his mind and decide. I’m ready for him. Otherwise he should let that belt go, give it to us so that we have something to fight for, and stay at heavyweight,” säger Gustafsson.
“They should do this fight (mot Oezdemir) for the interim title, it’s the No. 1 guy vs. the No. 2 guy. If ‘DC’ makes up his mind and wants to come down, we can fight for the real title. He better let that belt go, he can’t sit on his throne and decide who’s fighting and who’s not. When I beat Volkan I’ll be the number one guy and the next fight is for the belt, that’s it.”
”I just feel like that i have accomplished so much in the light heavyweight division, so … Let’s see what happens. i dont think he has that many fights in him and i have plenty of fights in me. Maybe i’ll go up one day, i don’t know, but my focus stays on the belt in my division,” avslutar Gustafsson.
