Den ursprunglige vinnaren av The Ultimate Fighter diskuterade, bland annat, sina utsikter för framtiden i ett mediascrum igår.
Inför sin match mot Ross ”The Real Deal” Pearson (15-6-1) på UFC Fight Night 42 imorgon, talade Diego ”The Nightmare” Sanchez (24-7) med pressmedlemmar om sina tankar kring karriären.
Sanchez var väldigt noga med att understryka hur viktig just den kommande matchen är för honom:
”It’s as special as it gets. It’s more important to me than if i was fighting for the title, because this is my dream.
This is going to be the last time I’ll be able to fight in front of my 160 family members, all my friends… It’s something very special because it’s the first time the UFC’s ever come to Albuquerque.
It’s a very important night for me”.
Sanchez ser även fram emot UFCs planerade debut i Mexiko, som han själv har för avsikt att vara en del av:
”I think a win here puts me there. The UFC already knows I want to go to Mexico. Mexico wants me there. And I’m looking for a win here and i want to call out nate diaz and challenge him to come down to Mexico fight me in Mexico.”
”But right now I have a tough opponent in front of me and I’m ready for this fight. I’m at my best.”
Om sin nuvarande motståndare var Sanchez något kortfattad:
”I think it’s going to be an explosive fight, right of the bat. He usually comes forward to fight and strike, which I anticipate he’s going to do. But we’re not fighting a boxing fight. We’re fighting a mixed martial arts fight. He’s going to have to deal with some techniques, some strategies that me and my team have put together.”
Om mötet med Nate Diaz (17-9), som Sanchez länge uttryckt intresse för, var han tydlig:
”That’s the fight I want, I’ve been wanting for a long time. He’s a crybaby, he’s a complainer, he’s an ingrate and I want to give him a bit of a lesson. I want to take him out in Mexico”.
