John Moraga (16-3) tar sig an Joseph Benavidez (21-4) på UFC 187 och det är en fight som han ser fram emot. Moraga pratar också om vem som borde få nästa titelchans och om det egentligen var lite tidigt att få en titelchans så snabbt som han fick.
Moraga känner sig mer än redo att möta Benavidez och vet att det kommer att bli en riktigt tuff fight.
“I don’t really know what he’s going to do,” berättade Moraga för MMAjunkie. “You never know. Every fight people come out with different strategies, different gameplans, whatever. I know he’s tough everywhere, so I have to be ready everywhere. I know he’s going to bring the fight. A fight that I’ve been wanting, a fight that I’ve looking for, so I’ll be ready.”
Moraga känner att han inte får den respekt som han vill ha.
“It’s big for me man, because I don’t really feel like I get the respect that I deserve as a fighter that’s been around for where I’m at the last few years and I still feel like I don’t really get the respect,” sa Moraga. “So, this opponent and this stage, I think is going to put me where I need to be.”
Moraga känner att han inte få respekt från UFC, fansen och från media.
“Everything, man,” sa Moraga. “I’ve been ranked, I’m fighting guys that aren’t ranked, I’m the underdog. Just different stuff. Little stuff like that that I go though. It’s hard to pinpoint.”
Moraga känner att det är John Dodson (16-6) som borde få nästa titelchans. Moraga känner själv att han fick sin titelchans lite tidigt i karriären, men att det var en chans han inte kunde tacka nej till.
“I think it could if I went out there and put on a really, really impressive performance,” sa Moraga. “But, I don’t think so, man. I think Dodson, should he win that next fight, they’re going to give him the next shot. I think it’s keep grinding from there. I’m not banking on that at all.”
“I had my fight a little soon. It was an opportunity I couldn’t really turn down at the time but I’m focused, man. I’m focused to get back there. I beat some tough people so far and I don’t think that they had enough time to really build themselves. I don’t think that people see that I’m coming, I’m for real.”
