Patrick Cote framställer respektfullt om att få möta Thiago Alves och hoppas på match innan oktober.
Patrick Cote (20-8) berättar att han har stor respekt för Thiago Alves (20-9) men han tror att en match dem emellan kommer vara publikvänlig och den rätta vägen för någon av dem att klättra i welterviktsdivisionen i UFC.
– A lot people were talking about me versus Thiago Alves, säger Cote till MMAjunkie. I’m a big fan of Thiago Alves; I have a huge respect for him. I’m a fan of him. I like to watch him fight and I think that can be a great fight.
– I’m a big fan of Thiago – this is not a call-out. But I’m a big fan. I know he came back after two years off and did an amazing job. I think stylistically, it can be a great fight, and if the fight happens I’ll be ready. I would have to be 100 percent to fight this guy.
Både Cote och Alves plockade hem viktiga segrar i april. Cote besegrade Kyle Noke under finalen av The Ultimate Fighter: Nations och Alves tog hem en viktig seger mot Seth Baczynski på UFC on FOX 11.
Nu återstår det att se om Alves och UFC:s matchmäklare Joe Silva håller med Cote om att detta är den rätta matchen för dem båda.
