UFC:s mellanviktsbälte är ett hett debatterat ämne just nu och det går knappt att räkna alla som anser sig förtjänta av nästa titelchans på en hand längre. Enligt ”Jacare” finns det däremot inget att debatera om.
I en intervju med Portal do Vale Tudo gjorde Ronaldo Souza (22-4) klart vem han anser förtjänar titelchansen efter UFC 199 i Los Angeles den fjärde juni – han själv såklart. Eller Vitor Belfort (25-11) om han skulle lyckas besegra ”Jacare” när de två möts på UFC 196 den 14:e maj.
Trots att Michael Bisping (28-7) låtit minst lika bestämd om att han förtjänar nästa möjlighet efter förra månadens vinst över Anderson Silva (33-7) är debatten dödfödd enligt Souza.
”It’s impossible that the winner of this fight doesn’t get a title shot next. It’s either me or Belfort. There’s no debating, it’s a title shot and that’s it.”
”Rockhold showed superior skills in their first fight and that could have affected Weidman, psychologically. Or maybe not, it could have gotten him even angrier for the second fight. I believe it’s the latter. I think it will be a tough fight and Weidman will retrieve his belt, unfortunately.”
