Aleksander Emelianenko och Sergei Kharitonov har mötts en gång i tiden. Det hela skedde på Pride Final Conflict Absolute i september 2006, där Emelianenko besegrade Kharitonov via en TKO 6:45 in i första ronden. Det var alltså fem år sedan, men det ser ut som att Kharitonov inte kunnat förlåta honom för denna förlust trots allt.
Idag dök det upp en ny intervju med Kharitonov, och han hade inte mycket gott att säga om den yngre Emelianenko-brodern direkt:
“I know that for the present moment Alex doesn’t have neither house nor home,” säger Kharitonov. ”He has spend everything on alcohol. He doesn’t have a flat, doesn’t have a car. And the only way to make some money for him is to give a scandalous interview and to attract some attention to his person.
He is will try anything to get a bout. He even came to Fedor’s camp with the hope that Fedor would help him to organize a fight somewhere. But he is washed-up… He talked trash about Fedor’s trainers. He supposes Fedor will praise him and will take his side. Fedor is not a fool and there is a possibility he will break the relations with Alex.
He will probably communicate with him occasionally, Alex is his brother, his blood after all, otherwise Fedor would send him to hell.
All organizations in the world know about his hepatitis C and nobody wants to have business with him. He has drunk himself into this disease. He is drug addicted alcoholic and criminal. All his disrespectful remarks to the athletes are just bullshit. How can he fight with hepatitis? Nobody gonna take him to any tournament.”
Nu har förvisso Aleksander faktiskt tagit fram papper från en doktor om att han inte har Hepatit C, ett rykte som startades när han inte fick gå en match i den nu nedlagda organisationen Affliction. Men om han är en alkoholist kan jag inte svara på. Aleks har fått till en ganska bra karriär och var obesegrad från 2007 till 2010. I december förra året åkte han dock på en förlust mot Peter Graham på en gala som heter Draka 5 som gick i Ryssland. Sedan dess har han inte gått någon match, och har Kharitonov rätt i det han säger så kan man faktiskt förstå varför.
