Conor McGregor ströks från UFC 200, eftersom de av princip inte gör undantag för fighters. Brock Lesnar behöver dock inte testas som vanligt inför galan, för honom gör man ett undantag. Hyckleri? Det hävdar i alla fall Brendan Schaub.
Att Brendan Schaub (10-5) har Conor McGregors (19-3) rygg är knappast någon nyhet – han är ett erkänt fan av irländaren. Han, liksom många andra, verkar besviken över att McGregor inte fightas på UFC 200, särskilt eftersom skälet är inkonsekvent.
I sin podcast The Fighter and the Kid kallar han UFC för hycklare.
’Hey, you can’t give exceptions for Conor McGregor, he has to follow protocol like everyone else. He didn’t do the interview, he shouldn’t fight at UFC 200!’ ’It’s Brock Lesnar, bro. He doesn’t have to do the testing. He’s going to fight at 200.’
HEY! They just said that they can’t make exceptions, so they yanked him from the card. Then we call Brock Lesnar and make an exception.”
Schaub fortsätter med att säga att det här var precis vad Dana White själv sa att han ville undvika.
”Now you’ve opened up the flood gates. If you make an exception for Brock Lesnar, you’ve got to make an exception for Conor McGregor and you’ve got to make an exception for whoever is the big draw now. That’s what Dana was scared of.”
Tidigare idag rapporterades det att Brock Lesnar (5-2) har testats. Standarden är dock att en återvändande fighter ska testas fyra månader innan matchen, därav undantaget.
