“I wish I could tell you something but I’m not the matchmaker. That’s the fight I wanted but now we’re focused on Pettis obviously,” säger Poirier till MMAnytts Damon Martin.
“Because the illegal strike completely changed the outcome of a fight and everything that was happening. It’s crazy. I don’t know anything about this sport, the reason why they do things anymore. I just fight.”
“Going from fighting one world champion to fighting another is a great place to be, showing that I’m at that level with the top guys in the world,” menar ”The Diamond”. “I’ve got a lot of respect for Anthony Pettis, we’ve been fighting on a lot of the same cards all over the world for a lot of years now both coming from the WEC. He’s been to the mountaintop.”
“He’s held the belt at 155 in the WEC, he’s held the belt at 155 in the UFC, defended the belt in the UFC. He’s definitely another good measuring stick to show the world where I’m at,” säger Poirier.
