Trots problem med att ta sig tillbaka till USA och Bellator ser Paul Daley ljust på framtiden. Han hoppas nu kunna återvända någon gång under sommaren för att möta War Machine.
Paul Daley, britten med sprängdeg innanför handskarna, har den senaste tiden haft problem med visum. Ett problem som hindrat honom från att återvända till USA och följa upp sin framgång i Bellator. Daley var egentligen planerad att möta War Machine som en del av den åttonde säsongen av Bellators welterviktsturnering, en match som röstats fram av fansen. Men matchen fick vänta då Daleys inblandning i en incident hemma i England hindrade honom från att resa tillbaka. Nu verkar dock saker se ljusare ut för britten, som förväntar sig en retur till sommaren.
”Hopefully things are looking really good,” berättade Daley igår för MMAjunkie.com Radio. ”I’d love to go back to Bellator this year. I’m still under contract with them. I’d like to get in one of the ’Summer Series’ cards and get the fight with War Machine – the fans voted for that fight, and it would be good to give them that fight. And then jump straight into the welterweight tournament (in the fall).”
Så sent som för sex dagar sedan gick Paul Daley match på huvudkortet i Dubai Fighting Championship. Britten gjorde åter igen god för sitt smeknamn ”Semtex” när han explosionsartat avslutade svartbältaren i Brasiliansk Jiu-jitsu, Rodrigo Ribeiro, med en våldsam serie ground’n’pound. Sin senaste match i Bellator gick han dock i juli i fjol då han knockade Rudy Bears i första ronden. Nu väntar han ivrigt på nästa chans att slåss på amerikansk jord, men för en av världens mest eftertraktade welterviktare finns det möjligheter på alla möjliga håll.
”If the visa’s going to be delayed, you’ll see me fighting more or less immediately – July, then again in September and maybe one more before the close of the year,” fortsätter Daley. ”There are a lot of opportunities. Right now the ones that are more interesting to me are coming from the Middle East and Asia. The last two fights I have this year are more than likely going to be one of those regions (if I’m not in Bellator).”
