UFC höll sin första gala i Filippinerna för drygt ett år sedan och i höst återvänder de med Fight Night Manila. Ännu finns dock inga utannonserade matcher för kortet.
För lite drygt ett år sedan hölls UFC Fight Night 66 i Manila, vilket blev den första UFC-galan i Filippinerna. Huvudmatchen gick mellan Frankie Edgar (20-4) och Urijah Faber (33-9) i fjädervikt.
Tydligen var UFC nöjda med galan – nu har de nämligen bokat en uppföljare. Den 15:e oktober går Fight Night Manila.
Kenneth Berger, chef för UFC Asia, hade följande att säga i ett officiellt pressmeddelande:
“We are very excited to be back in the Philippines. The consistently warm reception we receive from Filipino fans and last year’s sold out event shows us that UFC has an incredibly strong following in the country. Manila is a fighting city and we hope to put on another unforgettable show that will capture the hearts of Filipino sports fans throughout the country.”
