Anderson Silva tvingades dra sig ur helgens UFC-gala på grund av en inflammation i gallblåsan. Nu kommer han att opereras, redan idag. Hans coach berättar mer om det hela.
Nyheterna om att Anderson Silvas (33-7) ställer in sin match på UFC 199 kom plötsligt. MMA-legenden ska ha drabbats av magsmärtor tidigare under veckan och när de förvärrades begav han sig till sjukhus. Väl där kunde det konstateras att han drabbats av gallblåseinflammation.
MMA Fighting intervjuade Silvas boxningscoach, Luiz Carlos Dorea, om det hela.
”He called me and said ‘I’m going to the hospital, but I’ll get better’, so we came to Curitiba. When we arrived, he said ‘Master, I came home but the pain is too much.’ I told him to eat something, but he said ‘I can’t, I’m eating and throwing up.’ He told me this afternoon that it was too painful and he had to go back to the hospital.
He was doing great, and this came out of nowhere. He felt some (abdominal) pain before, but nothing serious. He always came back to train the next day, so we never imagined it would be something like this.”
Silva opererades tidigare idag. Enligt hans läkare gick allt bra och Silva kan bör kunna återgå till träningen om fyra till sex veckor.
”Everything went well. It went as expected. He is expected to be discharged on Friday. The medical staff is going to follow his recovery and see when he’ll be able to get back to doing physical activities. With this type of surgery, recovery usually takes from four to six weeks. We expect everything to go well and that he returns as soon as possible.”
Silvas planerade motståndare, Uriah Hall (12-6), är inte intresserad av att möta någon annan under helgens gala.
